Hattie the hedgehog loved to hop. She would hop around the meadow with a delightful squish. One sunny day, Hattie noticed her friends were missing. She looked around and felt a pang in her heart. "I must find my friends!" she said, her little nose twitching with excitement.
Hattie hopped towards the big oak tree. She wanted to ask Mr. Owl if he saw her friends. The oak tree was tall and wide, with leaves rustling in the breeze. Hattie shouted, "Mr. Owl! Mr. Owl! Have you seen my friends?" Just then, Mr. Owl appeared, blinking his wise eyes.
The wise owl said, "Hattie, dear, I saw your friends go towards the sparkling pond. They were looking for something shiny." With a thankful hop, Hattie waved goodbye and dashed away. She felt scared but also brave. "I can do this!" she said, hopping faster.
As she neared the pond, Hattie felt the cool breeze and heard the water splashing. She peeked through the tall grass and saw her friends playing with colorful stones. "Hooray!" she cheered, hopping into sight. Her friends turned to her, surprised and happy to see her.
"Hattie! You found us!" squeaked Pip the rabbit. "We found these beautiful stones! Want to join us?" Hattie felt a warm glow inside. She was happy to be with her friends again and felt brave for hopping all this way.
Together, they played by the pond, splashing water and finding more shiny stones. Hattie shared her favorite game, hopping over the stones, and everyone laughed with joy. They took turns hopping and cheering each other on, learning that kindness makes fun even better.
Suddenly, a tiny turtle waddled up to them. He looked sad. "I want to play too!" he said. Hattie thought for a moment. She wanted everyone to be happy, so she said, "Let’s help him play!"
The friends gathered around the turtle and invited him to join their game. They showed him how to hop from stone to stone, and soon, the turtle was laughing too! Everyone had fun together, and Hattie felt proud for being kind.
As the sun began to set, Hattie sighed happily. She had found her friends and made a new one too. "Let’s meet here tomorrow!" she said, her heart bouncing with joy. They all agreed, feeling excited for more adventures to come.
Hattie hopped home, feeling brave and kind. Her friends made every adventure special. The world was bright, and Hattie couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow would bring.
