One sunny day at school, Leo was studying hard. His friends, Jamie and Max, were playing when Max said, "Why is your dad always drinking?" Leo frowned. "He is my dad, but I want to be different than him!" Jamie smiled and said, "You can be brave, Leo! You can be more than your dad!" They all cheered, but Max teased, "Why don’t you drink too?" Leo shouted back, "No way! That’s not me!"
Later, Leo saw his dad at school. He was loud and fighting with other people. Leo felt sad and scared. He shouted, "Dad! Please stop! I want to be better than this!" His dad looked at him, and in that moment, Leo knew. He could change his path. He said, "I can make my own choices! I will succeed for my family!" Leo stood tall, leaving behind the hurtful words of others.
As the bell rang, Leo walked to his next class, feeling a spark of hope. His teacher, Ms. Carter, noticed his determination and whispered, "I believe in you, Leo." Her kind words warmed his heart. Leo knew he was not alone. He had friends and teachers who believed in his strength.
After school, Leo met Jamie and Max at the park. They played and laughed, and Max said, "I'm sorry, Leo. I know you're strong." Leo nodded, grateful for their friendship. He smiled and said, "Together, we can all be strong!" They all agreed, making a promise to support each other always.
At home, Leo worked hard on his homework, remembering his promise. His mom gave him a big hug and said, "I'm proud of you, Leo." He felt strong and happy, just like a hero in his own story. Leo knew he could be brave, and he knew he was making the right choice for his future.
