Penny was a ten-year-old girl who loved to play with her friends. But sometimes, she was not very polite. One day, her friends invited her to play soccer, but Penny yelled, 'No! I don't want to play with you!' Her friends felt sad, and Penny didn't even notice their frowns.
Later, Penny went to the park and saw her friends playing hide and seek. This time, she wanted to join, but when she got close, she shouted, 'You guys are so slow! Let me show you how to play!' Again, her friends felt hurt because they just wanted to have fun together.

One day, a wise old lady named Miss Lily was in the park. She watched Penny and her friends. After seeing Penny’s behavior, Miss Lily called her over. 'Dear Penny,' she said kindly, 'have you ever thought about how your words affect others? Politeness can make fun times even better.'

Penny thought about Miss Lily's words. She realized that her friends didn’t like being treated that way. The next day, when she saw them, she smiled and said, 'I am sorry for being rude. Can we play together now?' Her friends' faces brightened up with joy!

From then on, Penny practiced being polite. She said 'please' and 'thank you,' and most importantly, she listened to her friends. They all had lots of fun together, and Penny learned that being kind is the best way to make friends.
