Zac had a sock problem. A big, frustrating sock problem! “Why does this keep happening?” he groaned as he stared at one lonely rocket sock. “Am I living in a sock-eating black hole?” He scratched his messy hair and looked under his bed, behind the curtains, and even in the dog’s bed. What a mess!
One sunny morning, Zac was packing for a beach trip. He folded his favorite T-shirts and lined up his brightest socks. But as he zipped his suitcase, he noticed something odd. “Wait a minute,” he muttered, “where’s my other rocket sock?” That's when Zac decided to set a trap; he picked the shiniest sock and hid behind the sofa with popcorn, ready to catch the thief.
Hours passed with no sign of the sneaky culprit. Zac was about to give up and dive into his popcorn when he heard a tiny giggle. He peeped over the sofa and there it was! A tiny creature with a scruffy hat and striped socks peeking out of its ears was tiptoeing towards his shiny sock. Zac gasped softly, trying not to scare it away.
The little goblin turned and spotted him, freezing with wide eyes. 'Oh no, you caught me!' it squeaked. 'I’m sorry! I’m the Sock Goblin, and I can't help but love cozy socks! They remind me of clouds.' Zac chuckled, finding the goblin more funny than frightening. 'Maybe I can share some socks with you if you promise not to take them without asking,' he suggested.
The Sock Goblin beamed, nodding eagerly. 'Deal!' it chirped, doing a little dance. From then on, Zac and the Sock Goblin became the best of pals. Zac would leave a sock each week for the Goblin's collection, and in return, the Sock Goblin shared stories of its adventures across the sock realms. Through this unexpected friendship, Zac’s sock problem turned into a delightful game, with never a dull moment in his house.
